Title: Bi2Te3熱電合金塊材之製備與特性研究

Abstract: 摘 要: 組成為 Bi2Te3 之鉍碲純元素混合粉末經機械合金法之高能量球磨處理後,在60 秒的極短球磨時間內便有 Bi2Te3 合金相的形成,並於 15 分鐘球磨處理後就能獲得大量的 Bi2Te3 合金相。而經 5 小時高能量球磨處理後可形成晶粒大小為 28nm 之 Bi2Te3 熱電材料粉末,此粉末經真空熱壓成型後形成之 Bi2Te3熱電塊材的晶粒略增加至 40nm,熱電性質量測後發現此具奈米結構之 Bi2Te3 塊材除同時擁有極高之席貝克係數與導電率外,其 ZT 值隨溫度之增加而升高,並於 448K 時出現最大 ZT 值 1.06,最特殊的是本研究製備的 Bi2Te3 塊材在高溫範圍(>400K)之 ZT 值均大於 1,此係以其他方式製造之具奈米結構的 Bi2Te3 塊材無法達成的目標,也代表所獲得的 Bi2Te3 塊材極適合用於熱電元件之製造。
Abstract: During mechanical alloying to synthesize the nanocrystalline thermoelectric compound Bi2Te3 via high energy ball milling process, the formation of Bi2Te3 phase from elemental constituents occurs in only 60 seconds and completes with further milling to 15 min. The grain size for 5 h as-milled Bi2Te3 powders was 28 nm. These Bi2Te3 powders were then consolidated by vacuum hot pressing to produce bulk nanostructured Bi2Te3 discs. From the measurements of Seebeck coefficient, electrical resistivity and thermal conductivity, it is found the samples not only hold extreme
high Seebeck coefficient, electrical resistivity, its ZT value also increase with increasing temperature in the range from 300 K to 470 K and shows a peak value of 1.06 occurring at 448K. It is further noted that the ZT values of this sample in the high temperature range (> 400 K) is larger than 1. Such ZT characteristics are suitable for power generation applications as no other Bi2Te3 material with a similar high ZT value in this temperature range has been observed until now.
