Title: Performances improvement of vacuum tubes using carbon nanotubes embedded cathodes

Abstract: Abstract: Conventional vacuum tubes for audio amplification were modified through the introduction of multi-walled, carbon nanotubes with cathodes. The fundamental operation principle realised by the electron thermionic emission of ordinary vacuum tubes was then transformed into thermal-field emission when the vacuum tubes' cathodes were assisted by carbon nanotubes in the emission of electrons. As a result, the operation power can be reduced to 42%, owing to a lower required temperature for carbon nanotube-assisted cathodes in the release of high flux electrons. The dynamic measurement of these nanomaterial-assisted vacuum tubes reveals fast operation and fewer output distortions.
