Biotechnology can enhance the production of cultured species through the development of genetically superior animals tailored to their culture condictions and markets.In conjunction with other techniques, it can be a powerful tool in attaining more sustainable production.Before greater commercialization of aquatic GMOs can proceed, consumer and regulatory concerns must be more fully addressed.
