Title: Solitary wave propagation over a submerged step: Reflection, transmission, energy dissipation, and soliton fission

Abstract: Abstract:A solitary wave was generated by a piston wavemaker. The flow visualized measurement system with image-connection technique was used to record wave profiles. Sixteen conditions with four wave heights and four widths-heights combinations of submerged step were investigated. The effect of these widths-heights combinations on reflection, transmission, dissipation and soliton fission is discussed. Finally, the present study was consistent with modeling results.
