Abstract: Abstract:A freestanding graphene field emitter is prepared by quenching hot HOPG in a cold suspension, then manually loaded graphene on a metal probe. This single-layer graphene edge emits electrons from few atoms. Hence, this graphene probe (GP) is suitable for scanning tunneling microscope (STM). The GP (left) performs higher resolution than that of a conventional STM probe (right).
