|Abstract: ||abstract:In this study, we have conducted the electrical resistivity imaging monitoring during a well pumping test at the Pengtsuo site in Pingtung, Taiwan. Water level gauges were installed in the four wells, including P1, W1, O1 and O2, at the Pengtsuo site with different screen depths for the observation. The pumping test has design to be conducted in three stages. In the first stage the stepwise pumping were executed the in the P1 well for about 15 hours. Then the pumping was stopped for 8 hours for the recovery test in the second stage. The pumping in P1 was resumed and remained in a constant rate for another 48 hours for further analysis in the third stage. We conducted the resistivity monitoring in the first and second stage to examine if the resistivity imaging method is able to resolve the variation due to the pumping. The survey line is crossing the four wells in order to compare the resistivity measurements with the water level records. The preliminary results show that the electrical resistivity imaging is able to resolve the change of the water level at a range of tens of centimeters to over one meter. Vertical resistivity structures at the well position also reveal that the influences from the steel well casing. Therefore the resistivity difference image can be better to show the variation of the resistivity due to only the pumping test. We are currently working on the resistivity differences and the relative water level difference data in the hope to calculate the transmissivity and specific yield from the resistivity data.|
