Abstract: Abstract:We use several gene prediction programs on a particular genomic DNA sequence. Identification of the period-3 regions helps in prediction of specific exons within the genes of eucaryotic cells and parasite genomes. We present a digital filtering based on discrete Fourier transform approach to the genetic code translating nucleic acids into proteins. Such approach will result in alternative numerical formulations and improved computational techniques for the solutions of useful problems in bioinformatics. Also we introduce a modified spectral content algorithm to improve the ability of identification of coding regions in gene sequence
