Abstract: Abstract:As a result of the Human Genome Project (HGP, 2001) and International Rice Genome Sequencing Project (IRGSP, 2002), nucleic acid and protein sequences data are accumulated at an exponential rate, more and more relative valued databases are developed. Techniques and tools are needed to identify biologically relevant features in these huge amount sequences and to provide insight into their structures and functions. This paper investigates an optimization method for promoter sequences prediction based on score model and genetic algorithm. First, a simple, fast and sensitive model for identifying and predicting promoter sequences which have non-random statistical properties and therefore biologically active has been developed. Then in some limit for previously Score Method we will supply a new Genetic-based Score Method which has more sensitive and can make good recognition rate for more common situation. That is, an optimization processing for the promoter prediction by genetic algorithm is proposed. The proposed real-valued genetic algorithm is composing of real-valued crossover and mutation operators constructed with the information of real number field and objective function. Simulation results are included to demonstrate the proposed idea.
