Abstract: Abstract:Under limited channel capacity condition, this study investigates a combined source and channel coding algorithm providing a uniform video transmission rate to achieve better system performance in wireless MIMO systems. In the proposed algorithm, we applied MPEG2 video source coding scheme with convolutional channel coding as well as space-time block coding techniques, associated with BPSK/QPSK modulation method, to improve video transmission performance. The proposed algorithm assigned rates to MPEG2
source code and convolutional channel code, combined with space-time block coding schemes based upon the feedback information from Performance Control Unit (PCU) under channel capacity limitation, which ensures the given system can achieve better performance compared to a conventional system.
