Abstract: 摘要:由於現今媒體中增強的熱效應,即超順磁效應的關係,水平磁紀錄正接近其技術極限.垂直磁紀錄公認為最近傳統水平紀錄之替代技術,並且有展延面密度達每平方英寸兆位元以上的潛能.在本文中,我們將評論垂直磁紀錄模式因其組態而獨有的特徵,並且闡明垂直磁紀錄超越水平磁紀錄的優點.
Abstract:Longitudinal magnetic recording(LMR) is approaching its technical limits owing to enhanced thermal effects in modern media, known as the superparamagnetic effect. Perpendicular magnetic recording(PMR) is believed to be the closest alternative to conventional technology and provides the possibility of extending the areal density beyond 1 Tbpsi.In this article, the unique feature of PMR due to its configuration is reviewd and the advantages of PMR over LMR are clarified.
