Abstract: Abstract:The objectives of the study are to explore the effect of storage time and storage conditions on the intrinsic viscosity of high molecular weight -chitosan in acidic aqueous solutions over time. The results obtained were that the intrinsic viscosity decrease overtime during storage. Decreases in intrinsic viscosity of -chitosan were smaller in solution containing higher concentration of NaCl. Decreases in intrinsic viscosity were more pronounced stored in higher solution temperatures than that in lower temperature ones. Decreases in intrinsic viscosity were significant larger in acetic acid solutions than that in malic acid solutions.
