Abstract: Abstract:The aim of this present study is to investigate film condensation on an isothermal elliptical tube employing the model of Sarma et al (1998). The study also considers the transition from laminar to turbulent film. The paper then presents analytical analysis for the local dimensionless film thickness and heat transfer characteristics for different degrees of tube eccentricity. Finally, the results developed in this study are compared with those generated by previous theoretical and experimental results. It is noted that the correlation between the two sets of data is quite satisfactory.
