Abstract: Abstract:The corrosion behavior of mechanically alloyed Cu60Zr30Ti10 bulk metallic glass (BMG) in four different corrosive media was studied by the potentiodynamic method. The Cu60Zr30Ti10 BMG shows low corrosion current density and uniform corrosion in 1N H2SO4, NaOH and HNO3 solutions. The Cu60Zr30Ti10 BMG specimen (consolidated at 746K under 1.2GPa) specimen exhibits most corrosion resistance in 1N H2SO4. The formation of the oxide films and the nucleation and growth of pitting will be discussed in light of microstructural investigations.
