Abstract: abstract:The development of rural area responds closely to the process of industrialization in many aspects, including the population shrinkage, change in family and social structure and income level. In the paper, with special reference to the experience of Taiwan, we establish a urban-rural development model to illustrate the evolution of the rural agriculture sectors under the process of industrialization. Empirical observation from Taiwanese experience are reported and analyzed following the theoretical results.
