The purpose of this study is to apply intelligent controller to aircraft automatic landing system. It is noted that a conventional autopilot has difficulties in severe wind disturbances during the landing phase. In this study, multilayer feedforward neural network and radial basis function neural network are applied to the aircraft landing control. Simulation results show that the trained controller can guide the aircraft landing safely through wind disturbances. Also, strength ranges of wind turbulence and wind shear for a safety landing are suggested.
